We help make Fort Wayne a safe city by providing after school programs. Research shows that on school days, the hours from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. are the peak hours for teens to commit crimes; innocent kids to become crime victims, 16- and 17-year-olds to be in or cause a car crash; teen sex; and kids to smoke, drink or use drugs.
Quality youth development programs can cut crime immediately and transform this prime time for juvenile crime into hours of academic enrichment, wholesome fun, and community service. They protect both kids and adults from becoming victims of crime, and cut teen pregnancy, smoking, and drug use while they help youngsters develop the values and skills they need to become contributing citizens.

My name is Sandreka . I've been attending the Euell A.Wilson Center since 3rd grade. Now I am in the nineth grade but before coming to the center I was a quiet kid. I did not hang out like I do now the kids in my class called me quiet but now I am not quiet like I was. I have very good grades. I am an A student. But, before coming to the center I was never open with my feelings when I started going to the center I was immediately welcomed with open arms by all it is a very warm environment. While I was there I developed a love for myself aned other I also learned reponsibility, disipline how to forgive and love my enemies. The staff at the center are a godsend. They have the best interest of all the youth at heart in addition they expect the best from each of us. While attending the center I have learned leadership skill a long with volunteer skills. These are things that are taught to us to at the center. We are also taught to be the very best that we can and that God has the very best plan for us. Theres no doubt in my mind that we all have the potential to become whatever we want to be.

My name is Terrell. I’ve been attending The Euell A. Wilson Center for almost a decade; but before coming to the center I was not as happy as I am today. I had a lot of self-esteem problems, and anger issues. My low self-esteem issues came from being teased by my peers because I had eczema. My skin was always dry and covered with cracks, cuts and bumps. Because of this I was constantly made fun of by people. I was always teased or ridiculed which caused me to be angry and bitter. more>>
